Ngā Pou Māreikura is an interactive installation of creative works developed by our research team with expertise from Shivani Karan (Lane 25) and Jordan Tane (AUT). This event was held at Ngā Wai o Horotiu Marae in September 2024, to showcase an ongoing series of short films spotlighting wāhine who have a connection to particular places and practices in te taiao (nature). The five pou (signposts) were displayed as illustrations and animations for wāhine and whānau Māori to reflect on and provide their input around. The wānanga for wāhine that followed the exhibition was attended by over 20 women. Our aim is to continue to develop Ngā Pou Māreikura with support and input from a range of other communities.
